37 weeks: FULL TERM!
well, we finally made it. baby is fully grown and cleared for entry into the world.
i’m massive and uncomfortable, but it’s ok. well kind of ok… the 10th month of pregnancy is just miserable, i don’t care what anyone says - at this point the baby just needs to come out and everything needs to stop hurting. obviously we want the little one to cook as long as he or she needs, but if he or she happens to be ready to come out tomorrow, i’d be MORE than ok with that.
contractions. we’ve been having them all day, every day. there was one night where they were regular enough (10 minutes apart) and psuedo-painful that i called the doctor. he assured me they were just braxton hicks and we were still in practice mode.
as for me, i have admittedly been somewhat of a nightmare. i’ve tried to stay positive and make plans with friends and not sit around counting the minutes until this baby arrives… but that approach is getting harder each day. tomorrow my mom is treating me to mani-pedi (and hopefully some baked goods) so i imagine that will help elevate my mood a bit.
but there are happy things too! we scheduled a newborn photographer for the week after our little’s birthday and i’m way pumped about that. i’ve talked to our rabbi about potential bris/baby naming ceremonies so we’re all set on those. and best of all, no later than TWO WEEKS FROM TODAY do we get to meet this bundle of fun!
for all things holy in this world - let these next two weeks fly by!
